Sinclair Confirms Its Leadership Position In Public Safety Products At APCO 2018
Amidst the whirlwind of trade shows and recent events, Sinclair Technologies received an overwhelming response at APCO 2018 – APCO International’s Annual Conference & Expo. The show is a premier event for public safety communications officials, communication center managers and public safety communications equipment and services vendors. APCO 2018 offered various educational sessions, committee meetings and special events, paired with two full days of exhibits. Over 5,600 attendees were present at the event, which took place at the Sands Expo, Venetian-Palazzo Hotel in Las Vegas between August 6-7, 2018.
The Sinclair team met with representatives from PSAPs (public-safety access points), law enforcement, fire service, emergency medical services, and government agencies, along with service providers and commercial vendors. The main event hosted nine professional development tracks with 100 individual sessions focused on frontline telecommunicators, leadership development, comm center management, cutting edge issues, technology and more. Booth visitors discussed system expansions, complete replacements and the effects of First Net. Highlighted at the show was Sinclair’s new SY Series – SY350-SWBSNM(ABK) and SY450-SWBSNM(ABK) models, Aurora SC series of collinear antennas, and signature public safety products like the MR454 Duplexer Series.
Customers were most impressed with the new SY Series of corrosion-resistant black anodized Yagi antennas. They loved the heavy duty, quality design, and the fact that it was so wide banded. This next-generation series is ideal for all public safety applications as it offers reliability, durability, and easy installation in a light weight and compact package. Visitors were also impressed with its’ highly directional radiating pattern ideal for point-to-point communication applications. The Sinclair team explained the superiority of Sinclair SY Series for wideband systems as these antennas achieve higher performance over the entire 746-960 MHz and 380-512 MHz frequency bands, depending on the model.
Another popular product featured was the Aurora Series since it is produced utilizing cutting-edge, field-proven PCB technology. The booth had a cut down split section of the antenna which allowed customers to dive into the science behind the design. This unique display attracted many public safety vendors as it enabled them to understand how the antennas achieve an unparalleled combination of higher gain, wider bandwidth, highly consistent RF pattern, higher wind rating, and lighter weight, all in the smallest form factor.
Visitors appreciated the different options (null fill and PIP), specific gain options(9, 9.5 and 11.5 D B) and its solid, well-made appearance. A few loyal patrons of the Aurora Series praised the antenna construction because it lasts for many years even in the most challenging environments. The large number of visitors and appreciation for our products by leading officials at APCO 2018 stands testament to the fact that truly, ‘Public Safety is in Sinclair’s DNA!’
